IB Spanish Teacher

 

Job Description:

The DePaul College Prep World Language Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of an IB Spanish teacher. This position also includes lower level sections. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:

 

• Completed Category 1 or higher of IB tranining;
• 3-5 years experience teaching in the IB Diplomma Programme;
• Open-minded, enthusiastic individual with a passion and appreciation for a range of cultures & languages;
• Eager and willing to collaborate with members of a growing world language team;
• Comfortable working in a growing, dynamic work environment;
• Familiar with the implementation of ACTFL standards;
• Familiar with the creation and implementation of ACTFL-based IPAs;
• Is a native speaker or is fluent in the target language;
• Competent or willing to learn to become competent in curriculum & assessment design;
• Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
• Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching. 

 

Qualifications:

BA degree plus active Illinois PEL (teacher certification)

MA degree in the content area is preferred
